This is a question that is asked by many. Boudoir photography is a luxury service and with that, there comes a luxury price.

It all comes down to what you value or see boudoir photography as.  Each individual has a different feel towards it, but for some, it has a stronger meaning to them. Every woman has a different reason as to why they’d book a boudoir session.

Boudoir photography sessions are a whole day experience.  A full day of being pampered, getting your makeup done professionally and being able to dress up in beautiful lingerie that you otherwise would never normally wear or purchase yourself.  It is the ultimate confidence building, hyped up experience that will have long lasting effects.  It isn’t just to dress up and feel like a model for the day, it’s a deep self-love experience that will continue on with your body acceptance journey.  It is an empowering experience that will have you leaving feeling like a brand new person who has fully re-charged her battery.  And for us women who seriously do it all, we need to recharge every once in awhile.  Your partner will notice a difference,  your friends, and even your children will notice a difference with that added pep in your step.  It is hard to add a price tag to an experience like a boudoir session because it is truly price-less.

If you are going to spend the money expecting long lasting, powerful results, then you need to find the right photographer for you. Think of going to a spa, or even getting your hair done.  You do your research, look up the company and see their work and what they provide.  You are willing to spend extra money if you know it will be a definite positive outcome with the experience you are looking for.  With multiple price tag options from different companies, you have the freedom to pick and choose where you’d like to go.  The phrase, “you get what you pay for” is true and should be taken into consideration.  Do your research, ask around, and make sure you are getting the result you are looking for. With boudoir photography, the wrong experience can completely change the expected outcome.  A complete boudoir session should have you feeling like a Queen and leaving with the self confidence you deserve.

The right photographer should prepare you for the session so you begin with ease and comfortability.  With their experience, they should be able to direct you throughout the session with all different posing and lighting techniques that will show off your best features to show you your natural beauty and to love the skin you’re in!  This is why I feel it is so important to have a pre-consultation phone call beforehand.  To better get to know a person better, learn their comfort zone, and understand the reasoning as to why they’d like to book a boudoir session.  With that information, it will help your photographer formulate a plan with posing and intentions for the session to be catered to what your needs are.

Boudoir photographers know that the price might be a little much for someone to come up with all at one time so many offer pre-payment plans to fit your budget up until the scheduled shoot day.  This helps relieve some financial stress, along with helping to keep the session more of a surprise if it’s for their partner.  Pre-payment plans can be done up to 6 months prior which helps spread out the cost a bit more.
