Halloween Boudoir Session
Well, spooky season is almost over….and that’s a big bummer because I get excited for it every year. But I absolutely love doing Halloween Boudoir sessions. This years session was a little different than most. I decided to do the session outdoors this year and it was of course scheduled on the coldest day it could possibly be in eastern Tennessee. I tried to move the time up a bit because I knew it was getting darker earlier on that cloudy day but unfortunately, timewise, my client couldn’t push it up. It’s ok, things happen. I had my LED light so I was hoping that’s all I needed.
Well it got dark….REALLY dark. Quickly. It was hard to see the cemetery and the place I had picked out. Thankfully I had my LED lights. And when I said I was scared at how dark it was, I’m not exaggerating. Check out this image I took during the Halloween Boudoir session:
Yep. You’re probably thinking what I’m thinking. How in the heck can that be salvaged? Well, I worked my Photoshop magic and was able to recover the image. Hey, all the years of tutorials and practicing really paid off! LOL.
Here’s what I was able to save. I love the way the candle lights her face, but it was still so dark that I couldn’t see her pretty dress.
Here’s another image that was so dark, I could only see the candles!
This one I was quite proud of to be able to show her in so much light with the surrounding candles.
She rocked her session and looked so beautiful. I was able to acquire many more photos from that night. Even though, I wish the photo session could have been a bit earlier, she really is amazing and was so patient with me during her Halloween Boudoir session.
So, speaking of Halloween Boudoir sessions, there doesn’t always have to be a subject in them….so how about a pumpkin? We will call this my “BOO’doir” session LOL. I of course had to take my pumpkin that I carved out to a field and place smoke bombs in them. I had so much fun. I can’t wait to do it again when Halloween is over so I can do it to the other pumpkins, but I didn’t want to ruin the kids pumpkins just yet. Man, this was such a cool photo shoot but my Pumpkin is done for. He’s burnt from the inside out, but so worth it. Here’s a little behind the scenes of how much fun it was.
I brought my kids and they helped carry everything for me and record behind the scenes of my Halloween Boudoir session but with the pumpkin. We tried different colors of purple, pink, and blue. They all had different effects, but as you can see, the pumpkin sure did take a beating!
Here are a few more images from the session with the pumpkin.
I loved the contrast between the colors. I’ll be at it again soon with the other pumpkins. But in the meantime, I’m already looking up ideas for Christmas.
Let the Christmas Boudoir sessions begin!!!! I can’t wait.
