What to do with your Boudoir photos

What to do with your Boudoir photos:

What to do with your Boudoir photos? That’s an honest question. And I’ll give an honest answer. Do whatever you’d like with them.  Many women book Boudoir sessions for a certain reason.  It can be just because they have been wanting to do a session like this or it could be because they want to celebrate a milestone with a Boudoir Session.  Either way, the possibilities are endless.  Most book a Boudoir session for their significant other’s birthday, an anniversary, or maybe she is turning 30 or 40 or 50…it’s easier to book a session if you can justify the reason for it.  Boudoir photography is a luxury experience so if you are spending the money, you are investing in yourself.  Just remember, when booking a Boudoir session, do your research and find the right Boudoir photographer for you because it can either make or break the experience.

Most Boudoir photographers will only include albums and prints with their packages.  There are explanations as to  Why Boudoir photographers don’t like digital images, but there’s more that goes into it.   Having your images printed keeps them for a lifetime. Something to look back on over and over and it’s a beautiful keepsake to remind you of how amazing you are.  There are several different types of prints offered:

This is a Folio Box. There are several prints within matted frames. These can be saved discreetly in the box, or they can be switched out of picture frames to change it up a bit from time to time.

Keepsake albums can be made with a leather, velvet, suede, or textile fabric.  Acrylic covers with images are available as well.

These are most popular with clients. They have thick durable pages and are handcrafted to last.

So as for the question of what to do with your Boudoir photos, it really depends on how you want to display them.  Some clients are very open about displaying their photos in their home or private office setting and will get matted prints or larger metal/acrylic prints, while some like to keep it more discreet with an album. If the album is for your significant other, it’s also based off of their personality. If they are more receptive to seeing photos of you like this, they will want to look at your photos all of the time and even keep it in their nightstand. There are some significant others who aren’t as supportive and will say, “What am I going to do with these Boudoir photos if I can see your body anytime I want?”

Here is where the truth lies.  Either they are insecure about their own bodies, they don’t want you having newfound confidence, or they don’t know why you would spend money on something like this.  I speak from experience with hearing all different stories from Boudoir clients.  Maybe he’s worried about Who will see your Boudoir images? And lets be honest ladies, we say we are doing this for our partner, when in reality we are doing it for ourselves. It’s for US to look at over and over again to show us how we can overcome fear and step out of our comfort zone and feel sexy.  Sometimes life gets in the way and we forget that we need to pamper ourselves too.

This also brings up the topic of digital images. Most packages that contain an album or prints have an option of digital files included. It is so important as a Boudoir photographer to get those prints in your hand so you can have them forever. Plus, it’s a security thing. Photographers go through specific professional printing companies that are specialized in Boudoir photography. Some companies are women only staff for added peace of mind.  But when you have only your digital images, you need to find out where to get them printed, because you don’t just want to save them to your computer, you wanted to save money by printing them yourself right? There in lies another problem. Who will print those spicy images? Walgreens? CVS? Walmart? Nope, think again. Plus, you don’t know who is near those machines printing off your images. They could take their cellphone out and easily snap a photo of you and it could be across the internet within minutes.  Also, those companies auto-correct their images so they are never true to color or they can come out grainy.   Same with downloading them to your PC or phone. Hackers can easily find those risqué images.

Boudoir photographers strive in keeping their clients photos confidential.  We take all precautions on who sees the images and how you receive them as a client.  Most albums and prints come in a beautiful matching keepsake box with a thumbdrive to add the images that way for added protection. And your images will NEVER be publicly shared unless given permission to do so.
